Multilingual interviews — starting with Indian English

Most speech systems are tuned on a narrow accent set and fail quietly everywhere else. Intervues starts from Indian English because that is our primary audience — additional languages follow the same calibration discipline, not a marketing launch date.

Indian English as the baseline

en-IN is the live locale for the candidate app and the engine under test. Word-error-rate improvements on Indian-accented English are a named engineering focus — see ASR word error rate in the glossary.

Additional languages

Hindi and other regional languages are on the roadmap. We will announce locale support when ASR and turn-taking meet the same bar we hold for en-IN — not when a checkbox ships in a settings panel.

Code-switching

Real candidates mix English and Hindi mid-answer. Handling code-switch cleanly is harder than monolingual ASR; it is on the roadmap with the same no-fake-dates rule.

Questions

Can I run interviews only in Hindi today?

Not as a generally available production locale. Pilot conversations for specific cohorts may be possible — contact us. We will not claim Hindi is GA before it is.
